Rug Care Tips

Routine care will help keep your rug lasting and looking as good as new. It is recommended to gently vacuum your rug once a week to remove any dirt and debris. Please avoid vacuuming any tassels or fringes as this could cause damage. Rotate the rug regularly to avoid sun bleaching if exposed.

See below for some common household problems with solutions. A mild soap or detergent can be used to clean difficult stains, but this should be first tried on an inconspicuous area first. For persistent and difficult stains, please seek professional cleaning.

Shaggy Rugs

We recommend vacuuming your shaggy rugs using a small nozzle attachment to avoid any potential damage to the pile. Try shaking your rug upside down to remove any loose dirt and debris before vacuuming.

Polypropylene & Polyester Rugs

As durable as these synthetic rugs are for everyday use around the home, it is still recommended to vacuum using a small nozzle attachment to avoid any potential pile damage.

Wool and Natural Rugs

Commonly wool rugs go through a period of “shedding”, this is when fibres come away from the rug. This can last up to 16 weeks. This is a natural feature, and not a manufacturing fault. To help with this it is recommended to vacuum using a small nozzle attachment. Extra care should be taken when looking after a wool rug; spillages to be cleaned immediately, do not over wet the rug.

It is also recommended to vacuum your natural rugs with a small nozzle attachment, and to clean up any spillages immediately.
